Viral Load

 

The number of HIV virus copies per millilitre of blood is called the viral load, and can be measured very precisely. 
If you have fewer than 1000 virus particles per millilitre of blood (a viral load of less than 1000) you cannot pass the virus on to others. This is also called a suppressed viral load.
